The Winter Olympics are a fantastic combination of icy landscapes, snow-capped mountains and forests, modern arenas, thousands of athletes, and millions of fans who support their countries' representatives both on television and in person.
From February 6 to 22, the whole world will watch the XXV Olympic Winter Games. Italy will host them for the third time. In 1956, Cortina d'Ampezzo hosted the games, and in 2006, Turin.
The 2026 Olympics will be a new experience for Italy, as the competitions will be held in several locations: Anterselva, Bormio, Val di Fiemme, Livigno, Predazzo, Tesero, Milan, and Cortina d'Ampezzo. The opening ceremony will take place at the San Siro stadium in Milan, and the closing ceremony will take place at the Arena di Verona.
Over 16 days, 116 medal events in 16 sports will be contested. These include classic disciplines such as biathlon and ice hockey, but new additions are also expected. For the first time, ski mountaineers will compete for the world's most prestigious awards. New disciplines will also be introduced: parallel moguls in freestyle skiing and women's doubles in luge. This will increase the spectacle and tension, especially since seven more medal events will be contested than at Beijing 2022.
An event as grand as the Olympics is always accompanied by large-scale construction projects. This time, Italy will present several modern sports facilities at once: the Olympic Village Plaza and the main hockey arena "Santa Giulia" in Milan, where the key matches of the tournament will be held.
Most of the competitions will take place in such famous cities as Milan and Cortina d'Ampezzo. While the former is famous primarily as the capital of fashion, the latter is a popular winter resort. It has repeatedly hosted world championships in skiing and alpine skiing, bobsleigh, and skeleton.
Very soon, Italy will become the center of world sport, and everyone will be able to be part of the grand celebration.
How much are tickets for the 2026 Olympics in Italy?
Ticket prices vary depending on the sport you want to attend. It's also worth noting that the price depends on the status of the performance: semi-finals and finals always attract large crowds, so tickets for them are more expensive.
